LONDON ROCKS!!!!!

Left Edinburgh for London's Kings Cross Station (Why were kings cross? Maybe their trains were late!). The train trip took 4 hours and 45 minutes. We went on the Underground train to Victoria Station on the Victoria Line. Unfortunately, it was rush hour AND IT WAS PACKED! We walked our way to our unit at 16 Warwick Square Mews without getting lost (my parents are better on foot compared with driving). Our unit has two bedrooms, one bathroom, two toilets, two TVs, one fireplace, one kitchen, one dining room and one lounge room. We are surprised how quiet it is since its in the middle of London. We had dinner at at a Mexican restaurant called Loco Mexecano.

Hi Riley's Mum here: We are on the train heading to London. Lovely weather today. Thanks Scotland for providing clear blue skies as we depart! Sadly our time in Scotland is at an end - it
was all too short.
We are now looking forward to London.  Riley has lots on his list of must-dos for our last week. We are heading for King's Cross station and then we have to find our way to our accommodation at Pimlico. No more hire cars for the Cranstouns - it will be all public transport from here! Will we still manage to get lost??
Don't forget to send Riley a message. He's really keen to hear from his cousins too.
Love Jo

  1. Hi there Darling Grandson, Jo & Ross,
Did you have a good trip to London? Getting ready to go see the Palaces and places of interest now. Very exciting!!
Brenton got very tired and sunburnt driving us to Toowoomba yesterday. It was a hot day. But the gardens were very beautiful and the gardeners put a lot of work into them. Joan said she went on Monday and she too said the gardens were beautiful. Dougie wanted to take Rex but we said "No", as he would want to fight with all the other dogs and we would get thrown out!!!
And Wow! I never thought Mum would actually eat haggis!
Have a lovely time in London.and sent pictures. And stay close to Mum and Dad, Riley.
Lots of love, hugs and kisses,
    Nanna. XOXOXOXOXO

    1. Hi Mother. You are all hard on Rex - he would have loved a trip to Toowoomba! I knew Daniela and Dougie would love him. Tell them I have the name of Rex's breeder if they want to go home with a cute little Jack Russell. We loved the photos of Rex "missing us''.
And yes I did eat haggis - and actually liked it! I just didn't think about what was in it! It didn't have a strong offal taste - not like the infamous faggots! I would never have been able to eat them,
We are loving London. Think we will all be very sad when we have to leave.
      Much love Jo XXX

  2. Your Mum ate the Haggis !!! I know you would never tell Toss a porky pie but I find it very hard to beleive she ate the Haggis.. Did someone chew it for her ??? Yuk that's a disgusting thought !!! So you are in London now... My Dad and all but one of his siblings were born in the family pub called the Dover Castle which was on the banks of the Thames at Rotherhide.. (I think that's how you spell it ) The pub is no longer there unfortunately. From memory I think some of Mr Hitlers colleages bombed it flat early in the war...

Now Riley, you are interested in Tudor history... It was written in those times of the good folk of Rotherhide that they are prone to the use of profanity and obscenity... True..really.. Can you beleive that My Dad would be like that !!!??

You will love the underground little mate ... A great way of getting about. Saves the feet.. Walking about London is exhausting. Believe me take the tube ! It will take you virtually to all the places you want to go to.. Don't forget a trip to the Imperial War Museum after you've done the Tower of London..That Museum is purpose built for Riley Cranstuon and his Dad. Perhaps whist your enjoying passing a few hours there Mummy could go to Bond St??? From Memory there are still traces of the Roman walls close by the tower.. It was close by Boudica's army crossed to sack Londonium...A pity you couldn't take in Colchester.. It was the Roman capital of Britania. It was there that An enraged Boudica and her army butchered every man, woman, child, all the slaves and animals. They burned just about every building to the ground and what they couldn't burn they pulled down !!! All of the temples and public buildings were stone and marble.. All left in ruins... The romans learnt a valuble lesson... Don't upset Pommy girls because they can get pretty snakey !!!

The last time I looked into it.. there were 2400 pubs in London...There would be a few more by now.. I think you should take Dad to each one for a pint.. a lot of these establishments have an awful lot of history. I'm sure you and Dad would find them all very interesting... And the pork pies very yummy!!
